ITEM SUMMARY

RFB No. 2022-0486-B for Fire Station 4 Roof Replacement, Project No. 7373, for the Facilities Division to Castro Roofing of Texas, LLC in the amount of $196,343; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

BACKGROUND

It is the recommendation of the Facilities Division of the Engineering Department to proceed with the roof replacement at Fire Station #4 in the amount of $196,343 from Castro Roofing of Texas, LLC.

 

Through RFB No. 2022-0486-B the Purchasing Department received six bids, Castro Roofing of Texas, LLC provided the lowest responsive responsible bid.   

 

The replacement of the roof is at the end of its life expectancy and has deteriorated such that replacement is required to protect the contents of the building in the future.

 

If this work is not done, this could cause damage to the building including the interior of the building and its contents.

 

The funding for the project is in the Capital Improvement Plan account number 10214.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS

Funding for this item is planned in the 2022-23 Fire & Public Safety Facilities CIP.  Construction services in the Fire Station #4 Roof Replacement project, in the total estimated amount of $196,343, will leave a balance of $316,657 for future improvements and renovations at the facility.

 

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
