The Engineering Department recommends approval of an expenditure in the amount of $590,100 for engineering professional design services from Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc., for the Sewer Improvements – Indian Creek, Frito-Lay, White Rock Creek, Evans Park, Spring Creek, Shawnee Park, Laurel Lane, Project No. 7567. This project includes design and construction of 27-inch, 24-inch, 21-inch, 18-inch, 15-inch, and 12-inch sanitary sewer line along White Rock Creek, Indian Creek, Evans Park, Spring Creek, and Frito-Lay campus respectively. 

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. was deemed most qualified based on their Statement of Qualifications submission for RFQ No. 2021-0379-XR.

The benefit of this project includes the construction of an improved sanitary sewer system that will increase the overall capacity to the system and work to reduce or eliminate odors caused by the added flows to the system.

Not approving the expenditure would result in possible sanitary sewer overflows due to an undersized sanitary sewer system, the potential for increased odor, and a reduction in the quality of life for local residents.

Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Sewer CIP and is planned for 2023-24, as well.  Engineering professional design services for the Sewer Improvements - Indian Creek, Frito-Lay, White Rock Creek, Evans Park, Spring Creek, Shawnee Park, & Laurel Lane project, in the total estimated amount of $590,100, will leave a project balance of $3,259,900 for future expenditures.
