RFB No. 2022-0667-B for Screening Wall Replacement - Amelia Court, Park Boulevard, Woodburn Corners, Custer Road and Parker Road, Project No. 7290, for the Engineering Department to A & B Construction, LLC in the amount of $2,225,340; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

The Engineering Department opened bids on October 4, 2022 for the Screening Wall Replacement - Amelia Court, Park Boulevard, Woodburn Corners, Custer Road and Parker Road, Project No. 7290. This project includes the replacement of 2,706 linear feet of existing screening walls, sidewalks, and alley pavement at the following locations:

(1) Amelia Court & W. Park Boulevard (between Amelia Court and Woodburn Corners) (1460 LF)
(2) Custer Road (south of Rustic Dr) (624 LF)
(3) Woodburn Corners (just south of W. Park Boulevard) (206 LF)
(4) Parker Road (between Tree House Lane and Canyon Valley Trail) (416 LF)
 
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by A & B Construction, LLC, in the amount of $2,225,340. There was a total of one thousand and sixty-nine (1,069) vendors notified of this project. Two (2) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

If this project is not awarded, the screening walls, sidewalk, and adjacent alleys along Amelia Court, Park Boulevard, Woodburn Corners, Custer Road and Parker Road will continue to deteriorate resulting in increased future maintenance costs and reduction in the quality of life of residents.

Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Street Improvement CIP.  Construction services for the Screening Wall Replacement - Amelia Court, Park Boulevard, Woodburn Corners, Custer Road and Parker Road project, in the total estimated amount of $2,225,340, will leave a current year balance of $376,907 for future project expenditures.
