| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on October 11, 2022 for the Alley Reconstruction – Chandler Drive, Piedra Drive, Brunchberry Lane, Northcrest Drive & Karen Court Project. The project includes removal and replacement of approximately 6,165 LF of existing concrete alley at the following locations:
• Chandler Drive Alley – Los Altos Drive to Chandler Drive (1,310 LF)
• Piedra Drive Alley – Roundrock Trail to Cobra Valley Lane (1,300 LF)
• Brunchberry Lane Alley – Mission Ridge Road to Stillwell Road (1,150 LF)
• Northcrest Alley – Valley Creek Drive to Longworth Drive (1,900 LF)
• Karen Court Alley – Wilma Lane to Karen Court (505 LF)
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Jim Bowman Construction Company, L.P., in the amount of $1,290,997. There were a total of 1634 vendors notified of this project. Eight (8) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the existing alley pavement will continue to deteriorate, resulting in reduced quality of life for residents and increased maintenance costs for the City. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Street Improvements CIP. Construction services for the Alley Reconstruction - Chandler Drive, Piedra Drive, Brunchberry Lane, Northcrest Drive and Karen Court project, in the total estimated amount of $1,290,997, will leave a current year balance of $287,319 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
