| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on January 12, 2023 for the Drainage Improvements Ranch Estates project. The project includes drainage improvements, including the installation of new ditches, culverts, headwalls, and storm drain inlets to improve drainage along Ranch Estates Drive and Ranch Estates Circle.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by A & M Construction and Utilities, Inc., in the amount of $572,283. There were a total of 1,027 vendors notified of this project. Six (6) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the stormwater runoff within the neighborhood will continue to pond along the streets and into adjacent residential properties causing localized flooding, pavement drainage issues, mosquito concerns, and existing drainage infrastructure issues. The continued flooding issues will result in continued maintenance costs, flooding along the street and adjacent residential properties, and a continued reduction in the quality of life for surrounding residents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Municipal Drainage CIP. Construction services for the Drainage Improvements Ranch Estates project, in the total estimated amount of $572,283, will leave a current year balance of $2,717 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
