At the request of Fleet Services, Plano Fire-Rescue is seeking to ratify an increase to the current awarded amount of $3,222,258 by $114,111 for a total amount of $3,336,369 to complete the purchase of Fire Apparatus from Siddons Martin Emergency Group LLC. (HGAC Contract #FS12- 19 / City of Plano Internal Contract #2021-0168-O / Change Order No. 2).
On January 25, 2021, Council approved the purchase of two (2) Pumper Fire Trucks, one (1) Heavy Duty Rescue Pumper Fire Truck and one (1) Aerial Ladder Fire Truck in the estimated amount of $3,194,394 from Siddons Martin Emergency Group LLC through an existing contract.
Change Order #1 accounts for changes made to E6 and E12 [two (2) Pumper Fire Trucks] and includes a front bumper modification to relocate the hose reel and body compartment modifications that were not in the original Purchase Order. Change Order #1 was executed on November 15, 2022 to increase the award by $27,864 for a total amount of $3,222,258.
Change Order #2 accounts for changes made to T1 [one (1) Aerial Ladder Fire Truck] and E4 [one (1) Heavy Duty Rescue Pumper] for a total of $114,111.
The change order for T1 [one (1) Aerial Ladder Fire Truck] totals $55,059.49. These changes represent standard PFR apparatus features that were not in the original Purchase Order, to include an auxiliary A/C unit, remote aerial controls, an Opticom emitter, and a 10” cab extension. In addition, a transverse body compartment was added to provide sufficient storage space for PFR’s standard ladder truck inventory of tools and equipment.
The change order for E4 [one (1) Heavy Duty Rescue Pumper Fire Truck] totals $59,051.35. PFR Command Staff approved the addition of a light tower on the Special Operations engine to provide extra scene lighting capabilities. The light tower addition accounts for approximately $30,000 in the change order. The balance of the change order represents standard PFR apparatus features and body compartment modifications that were not included in the original Purchase Order.
Funding for these change orders is available in the Fire Department Equipment Replacement Fund
