JPOD provides a competing point to multipoint gondola type personal transit solution. City Council approved the Engineering Department to submit an application for the CERTT Program Round 1 JPOD. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The NCTCOG has initiated the Certification of Emerging and Reliable Transportation Technology (CERTT) program to bring personal transit solutions to the attention of member agencies. This program has evaluated and highlighted three transit technology companies (TransPod, JPod, and Swyft Cities) for member agency consideration. The City of Plano has begun discussions with JPod and is seeking Council concurrence to start discussions with Swyft Cities.
The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is requesting submittals for their Certification of Emerging and Reliable Transportation Technology (CERTT) program Round 2 Swyft Cities application. Swyft Cities is a company that provides aerial point to multipoint gondola type personal transit.
