RFB No. 2023-0027-B for Citywide Wayfinding Signs, Project No. 7148, for the Engineering Department to Geograph Industries, Inc. in the amount of $948,614; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

The Engineering Department opened bids on February 23, 2023 for the Citywide Wayfinding Signs Project No. 7148. The project includes the construction of wayfinding signs and related appurtenances along City right of way, to address the needs of visitors and locals needing direction to the City's various points of interest sites per the attached map.

The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Geograph Industries, Inc. in the amount of $948,614. There were a total of 1,281 vendors notified of this project. Nine complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

If this project is not awarded, visitors, tourists, and residents of Plano will continue to have lack of information and direction to locate specific areas of tourism and commerce within the City of Plano, resulting in a reduction in the quality of life for tourists, Plano citizens, and local businesses.

Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Capital Maintenance Fund.  Construction services for the Citywide Wayfinding Signs project, in the total estimated amount of $948,614, will leave a current year balance of $776,386 for future project expenditures.

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
