To approve a decrease to the current awarded contract amount of $1,585,941 by $137,185, for a total contract amount of $1,448,756, for OSP Fiber Cabling Network Phase III, Project No. 7159, from Gardner Telecommunications, LLC for the Technology Solutions Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. (Contract No. 2019-0553-B; Change Order No. 6) Approved

On February 10, 2020, City Council awarded CSP No. 2019-0553-B for OSP Fiber Cabling Network Phase III, Project No. 7159 to Gardner Telecommunications, LLC in the amount of $1,525,420.

The City initiated this 3 phased project in 2018 to interconnect City facilities, traffic intersections, water towers, and lift stations through a fiber network.

The contract for Phase III was entered into with Garner Telecommunications, LLC in February 2020 with an estimated cost of $1,525,420. Throughout the course of this phase there have been 5 change orders to the project to support additional facilities, adjustments due to utility pole being relocated, and changes to avoid high risk areas. 

This project has completed in 2023 and will require ongoing maintenance to ensure that the new network continues to operate efficiently.

This item approves Change Order No. six (6) to contract number 2019-0553-B and will reduce the contract amount by $137,185.  This revenue will reconcile the final figures for the closeout of the contract.
