| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on April 25, 2023 for the Alley Reconstruction –Sutherland, Biltmore, Rochelle, Coach House, Grayson, Queens Way, and Sage Brush Trail, Project No. 7296. The project includes removal and replacement of approx.7,500 linear feet of alley pavement at the following locations:
1.Biltmore Place– From Denham Way to Biltmore Place (1,000 LF)
2.Coach House Lane– From Sailmaker Lane to the alley intersection behind Rochelle Drive (1,350 LF)
3.Rochelle Drive– From alley intersection behind Coach House Lane to alley intersection directly north (500 LF)
4.Grayson Drive– From Grayson Drive (north) to alley intersection (950 LF)
5.Sage Brush Trail - From the alley intersection behind Eggenhufer Circle to alley intersection directly east. (900) LF
6.Queens Way– Monarch Drive to Queens Way (800 LF)
7. Sutherland Lane - From Hedgcoxe Rd to Alderwood Place including two alley connections (2,000 LF).
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by KIK Underground, LLC, in the amount of $2,193,794. There were a total of 1,742 vendors notified of this project. Five (5) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the result is continued deterioration of the existing alleys within the project limits, resulting in increased maintenance costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life for surrounding residents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Street Improvements CIP and is planned for future years, as well. Construction services for the Alley Reconstruction - Sutherland, Biltmore, Rochelle, Coach House, Grayson, Queens Way, Sage Brush Trail project, in the total estimated amount of $2,193,794, will leave a combined budget of $3,100 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
