The Parks and Recreation Department opened bids on April 4, 2023 for the Eldorado Park Irrigation and Landscape Renovations. The park is located at 4436 Eldorado Drive, Plano, Texas. The renovation project includes re-grading throughout, erosion control, new sod, and a new backstop. The renovation also includes replacing the twenty-eight year old irrigation system that has become inefficient and high maintenance.

The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by C. Green Scaping, L.P., in the amount of $396,309. There were one thousand seven hundred and twenty-eight (1,728) vendors notified of this project. We received four (4) complete bids for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

The benefit of this project includes providing a solution to the drainage & erosion issues, which prevents the use of the park for many days after rain. The addition of new sod and irrigation system will also enhance the beauty and usefulness of the park. Not approving the expenditure will result in worsening drainage problems, declining sod, more erosion issues, and more cost for irrigation repairs.

Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Park Improvements CIP.  Construction services for the Eldorado Park Irrigation and Landscape Renovations project, in the total estimated amount of $396,309, will leave a current year balance of $185,454 for future project expenditures.
