The Engineering Department opened bids on May 4, 2023 for the replacement of the HVAC system at Fire Station 12 with an add alternate to replace two split system air conditioning units. The project includes all labor, materials, equipment & supervision as required by the specifications and drawings.

The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Air Conditioning Innovative Solutions, Inc. with a base bid of $114,489 and an add alternate of $17,183 for a total of $131,672. There were a total of 764 vendors notified of this project. Three (3) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

If this project is not awarded, the result is continued deterioration of the HVAC System, resulting in increased maintenance and energy costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life for staff housed in this facility.

Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Capital Maintenance Fund.  Replacement of the HVAC System and two split system air conditioning units at Fire Station 12, in the total estimated amount of $131,672, will leave a current year balance of $61,748 for future project expenditures.
