The project is a renovation of existing athletic fields, lighting and irrigation; new restroom building; replacement and extension of trail around athletic fields, providing a new trail extension to the west side of Independence Parkway; retaining walls; irrigation, tree planting, and site repair. The benefit of this project is the completed restoration of the site, expanded park use for residents, improved athletic playing fields and associated restrooms, and trail extension to the west side of Independence Parkway.

Failure to approve this item could result in continued underutilization of the site of the former maintenance shop, continued wear on the athletic fields and outdated restrooms.
