| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department recommends approval of Change Order No. 1 for the increase in the construction contract with Ratliff Hardscape, Ltd., in the amount of $128,639, for the Screening Wall Replacement – Preston Pointe.
Change Order No. 1 includes the additional depths of drilled piers and the requirement to include drilled pier casing, due to unforeseen groundwater discovery after construction began.
If this change order is not approved, the deteriorating screening wall infrastructure will not be able to be reconstructed completely with these improvements, resulting in future maintenance costs, and a reduction in the quality of life for the surrounding neighborhood where screening is required. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Street Improvements CIP. The first change order for the Screening Wall Replacement - Preston Pointe project, in the total estimated amount of $128,639, will leave a project balance of $124,824 for future expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
