The Engineering Department opened bids on June 08, 2023 at 2:00 PM for the Re-Bid Plano Center Collinwood Lighting project for the replacement of the incandescent can lights in the Plano Center Collinwood meeting room. The project was re-bid with an adjusted design because the first bid was over budget. The new can lights will be more energy efficient and require less maintenance.

The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Facility Solutions Group, Inc.,  in the amount of $529,500. There were a total of 1,285 vendors notified and 5 vendor complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

If this project is not awarded, the result is continued deterioration of the existing fixtures which are over 30 years old, resulting in increased maintenance and energy costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of service provided to the patrons who utilize this room for events.

Funding for this item is planned in the 2023-24 Park Capital Maintenance Fund.  Construction services for Plano Center Collinwood Lighting, for a total estimated amount of $529,500, will leave a project balance of $52,950 for future projects.
