| | | | | | | | ITEM SUMMARY To approve an increase to the current awarded contract amount of $3,454,350 by $302,000, for a total contract amount of $3,756,350, for Alley Concrete Pavement Repairs Zones L2 and L3, Project No. 7569, from Cam-Crete Contracting, Inc. for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. (Contract No. 2023-0077-B; Change Order No. 1) Approved |
| | | | | | | | PREVIOUS ACTION/PRESENTATION On January 9, 2023, City Council awarded a bid in the amount of $3,454,350 for Alley Concrete Pavement Repairs Zones L2 and L3, Project No. 7569 to Cam-Crete Contracting, Inc. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND This change order is for additional quantities of alleys and barrier free ramps, identified in the field, by Public Works staff. The original project was designed in the spring of 2020 and further deterioration of the alleyways has occurred over that three-year span. The contractor will hold current prices and no additional working days will be needed to complete the project as scheduled.
If this project is not awarded at Council, these areas will not be repaired, which will result in elevated maintenance and replacement costs in the future. In addition, existing ADA compliance issues will not be repaired, leaving pedestrian facilities in an unsafe condition. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2022-23 Street Improvements CIP and is planned for future years, as well. The first change order for the Alley Concrete Pavement Repairs Zones L2 & L3 project, in the total estimated amount of $302,000, will leave a balance of $42,233 for future project expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
