| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on September 21, 2023 for the Kingston Drive, Duchess Trail, Lorraine Drive and Willow Lane - Paving and Waterline Improvements, Project No. 7460. The project includes removal and replacement of 4,300 linear feet of full-width residential street pavement, sidewalks, driveways, barrier free ramps, and 4,200 linear feet of 6" and 8" waterline replacement at the following locations:
1. Kingston Drive (Peachtree Lane to Duchess Trail - 2,000 linear feet)
2. Duchess Trail (Kingston Drive to Royal Oaks Drive - 310 linear feet)
3. Lorraine Drive (P Avenue to end of cul-de-sac - 430 linear feet)
4. Willow Lane (18th Street to R Avenue - 1,570 linear feet)
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by ANA Site Construction, LLC, in the amount of $3,217,802. There were a total of 1,233 vendors notified of this project. Six (6) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the result is continued deterioration of the existing pavement and the existing antiquated waterlines, resulting in increased maintenance costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life for surrounding residents and motorists. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2023-24 Street Improvement CIP and Water CIP Funds. Construction services for the Kingston Drive, Duchess Trail, Lorraine Drive and Willow Lane - Paving and Waterline Improvements project, in the total estimated amount of $3,217,802, will leave a combined balance of $65,689 for future expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
