| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Purchasing Department solicited the complete furniture package for the Finance and Communications Departments. Two (2) responses were received.
The furniture package includes desks, chairs, cubicles furniture, tables and storage cabinets. The products specified and the bid packages were separated by manufacturer. Our recommendation is for the bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bid from Plano Office Supply. The total amount of the complete furniture package is $383,157.
If this purchase is not approved the final step of the renovation cannot be completed and the new programmed areas cannot be used.
The City is authorized to purchase from a cooperative purchasing program with another local government or a local cooperative organization pursuant to Chapter 271 Subchapter F of the Local Government Code; and by doing so, satisfies any State Law requiring local governments to seek competitive bids for items. | | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2023-24 Capital Maintenance Fund. The purchase of furniture for the Finance and Communications departments, in the total estimated amount of $383,157, will leave a balance of $1,006,304 for future expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
