The Engineering Department opened bids on December 7, 2023 for the Water Rehab - Steeplechase Estates Project No. 7465. The project includes replacement of 6,825 linear feet of 6” and 8” water mains and associated pavement replacement in the Steeplechase neighborhood along the following streets:

1. Ascot Drive - West Park Boulevard to Steeplechase Drive

2. Steeplechase Drive- Triple Crown Lane to Manor Lane

3. Triple Crown Lane - Steeplechase Drive to Wavertree Lane Alley

4. Manor Lane – Steeplechase Drive to Wavertree Lane Alley

5. Pathfinder Trail –Triple Crown Alley to Manor Lane

6. Gallant Fox Lane- Triple Crown Lane to Manor Lane

7. Wavertree Lane – Triple Crown Lane to Manor Lane

The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by KIK Underground, LLC, in the amount of $3,005,275. There were a total of 880 vendors notified of this project 8 complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

If this project is not awarded, the result is increased ongoing localized maintenance, intermittent service interruptions, increased maintenance costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life for surrounding residents and motorists.

Funding for this item is available in the 2023-24 Street Improvements CIP and Water CIP and is planned for future years in both funds, as well.  Construction services for the Water Rehabilitation - Steeplechases Estates project, in the total estimated amount of $3,005,275, will leave a combined balance of $492,890 available for future expenditures.
