ITEM SUMMARY

RFB No. 2024-0299-B for Screening Wall Replacement - Parkwood Boulevard, Nassau Drive, and Willow Bend Drive, Project No. 7462, for the Engineering Department to Ratliff Hardscape, LTD in the amount of $3,639,653; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved 

BACKGROUND

The Engineering Department opened bids on May 2, 2024 for the Screening Wall Replacement – Parkwood Boulevard, Nassau Drive, and Willow Bend Drive project.

 

The project includes the removal and replacement of approximately 4,495 linear feet of screening wall and sidewalks in the Willow Bend Estates neighborhood at the locations listed below:

1.    Northwest corner of Parkwood Boulevard and Nassau Drive.

2.    Southeast corner of Parkwood Boulevard and Nassau Drive.

3.    West side of Willow Bend Drive north of Nassau Drive.

4.    West side of Willow Bend Drive south of Weatherby Lane.

 

The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Ratliff Hardscape, LTD, in the amount of $3,639,653. 

 

There were a total of 929 vendors notified of this project. Five (5) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

 

If this project is not awarded, the result is continued deterioration of the existing screening wall, resulting in increased maintenance costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life for surrounding residents.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS

Funding for this item is available in the 2023-24 Street Improvements CIP and is planned for future years, as well.  Construction services for the Screening Wall Replacement-Parkwood Boulevard, Nassau Drive, and Willow Bend Drive project, in the total amount of $3,639,653, will leave a current year balance of $150,000 for future expenditures.

 

Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
