The Plano City Council approved the acquisition of a 0.85 acre tract at the southwest corner of H Avenue and 15th Street on July 23, 2001 for $394,545. 

On May 8, 2006, the City Council designated a 974 square feet area along the parcel's frontage of 15th Street as right-of-way through Resolution No. 2006-5-8(R). 

Subsequently on June 22, 2009, the City Council authorized a real estate agreement to sell a 0.65 acre tract from the 2001 acquisition and a neighboring 0.239 acre tract to UMT 15th Street, L.P for $426,129 which was pursuing a development project to develop 44 dwelling units and a pool for a residential condominium complex on the southside of 15th Street between G and H Avenues.

Today the remaining City of Plano property at the southwest corner of H Avenue and 15th Street is immediately east of the proposed 15th Street Townhomes development which UMT 15th Street L.P. sold to Texas Intownhomes, LLC in May 2017. The property contains eight on-street, head-in parking spaces, sidewalk paving and parkway between the sidewalk and curb. 

Given the current uses of the subject property, its location adjoining existing H Avenue right-of-way and adjacency to the planned townhome development, Planning and Real Estate staff recommends the Plano City Council designate the subject property as H Avenue right-of-way as well.
