| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on June 6, 2024 for the Water Rehabilitation - Park Boulevard Phase 1 (Preston Road to US 75) project. The project includes water rehabilitation of approximately 9,733 LF of 6" to 14" water mains along Park Boulevard from Preston Road to US 75.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by A & B Construction, LLC, in the amount of $4,123,775. There were a total of 957 vendors notified on this project. One (1) complete bid was received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the result is the continued deterioration of the existing water lines along the project limits, resulting in increased maintenance costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life in this neighborhood. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the Water CIP and is planned for future years, as well. Construction services for the Water Rehabilitation - Park Boulevard Phase 1 (Preston Road to US 75) project, in the total amount of $4,123,775, will leave a balance of $19,904 for future expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
