The Glen Meadows Renovation project will replace aging park features, including installing a new playground, play pit and shade structures, create a looped walking path with lighting, install trees and irrigation, address on-site drainage issues and ensure ADA accessibility compliance is current.
The Parks and Recreation Department opened bids on April 30, 2024, for Glen Meadows Park Renovation Project No. PKR-P-7018. The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by T.F. Harper & Associates, LP in the amount of $1,455,987. Eight (8) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
The renovation of Glen Meadows Park will result in numerous benefits. The park's walkways and playground will be upgraded to meet current accessibility standards, the replacement irrigation and lighting systems will be more efficient in water and electricity usage, and the park will receive new play equipment aligning with community feedback. Additionally, the project will resolve runoff and erosion issues by regrading and installing retaining walls to ensure clear walkways.
If the project is not awarded, the park's amenities and features will be non-compliant with today's accessibility and safety standards; the park will continue to experience runoff and drainage issues impeding the walkways; the aging play equipment, which is beyond its life cycle, will not be maintainable to manufacturer safety standards and may need to be removed without replacement.
