ITEM SUMMARY

RFB No. 2024-0233-B for Bob Woodruff Dog Park Shade and Drainage Improvements, Project No. PKR-P-7504, for the Parks and Recreation Department to ALCC, LLC dba Perfect Finish Landscaping in the amount of $684,200; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

BACKGROUND

The Parks and Recreation Department opened bids on June 6, 2024 for Bob Woodruff Dog Park Shade and Drainage Improvements, Project No. PKR-P-7504. The project will install shade structures in each paddock of the dog park; add benches, accessible paths, subsurface drainage, make needed irrigation repairs and re-sod as needed.

The Dog Park at Bob Woodruff opened in the fall of 2019. It features separate areas for large and small dogs with a centrally located shade structure that overlooks the fenced enclosures. This project will introduce shade structures within each paddock, thus improving user experience during warmer weather. The project will also address drainage issues that limit the park's availability and hamper routine maintenance during rainy periods. The scope of work is in response to operational and community feedback.

The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by ALCC, LLC dba Perfect Finish Landscaping, in the amount of $684,200. There was a total of 1,356 vendors notified of this project. Seven (7) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.

The benefits of this project are the ability of residents to use the park more comfortably in every season, and more efficient and effective maintenance of the park by City staff. If this is not approved, routine maintenance challenges will persist in rainy weather and the park users will have no shade inside the paddocks.
