Louis Construction of Texas, LTD. in the amount of $14,363,106; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all necessary documents. Approved

| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND The Engineering Department opened bids on July 30, 2024 for Sewer Improvements Plano Parkway Parallel Interceptor, Project No. 7294. The project includes approximately 2,300 LF of 36" PVC and 4,800 LF of 42" PVC wastewater line. The proposed interceptor will eliminate surcharging anticipated in the City of Plano's sewer collection system. A portion of this line will be installed by bore and the rest by open cut.
The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by S. J. Louis Construction of Texas, LTD., in the amount of $14,363,106. There was a total of 1,409 vendors notified of this project. Five (5) complete bids were received for the project as shown in the attached bid recap.
If this project is not awarded, the existing sanitary sewer system in the southern part of Plano would continue to surcharge, causing odor and environmental issues, increased maintenance costs for the City and a negative impact on the quality of life for surrounding businesses, developments and residents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is budgeted in the 2024-25 Sewer CIP and is planned for future years, as well. Construction services for Sewer Improvements Plano Parkway Parallel Interceptor, Project No. 7294, in the total estimated amount of $14,363,106, will leave a balance of $120,863 for future expenditures.
Approval of this item will support the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of being an Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government. |
