| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND MuleSoft is an integration platform that enables seamless connectivity between modern SaaS platforms and legacy on-premises systems, unifying data sources, streamlining workflows, and enhancing scalability through API-led solutions. Leveraging MuleSoft, we have implemented key projects, including the integration of our construction management system, Masterworks, with project fund data from JD Edwards, and the interface for Fire Rescue Incident data between our Computer-Aided Dispatch software and the ESO emergency management SaaS solution. Additionally, we've initiated automation development for employee events such as onboarding, transfers, and offboarding. MuleSoft's features enable our solutions to improve operational efficiency, prevent data loss with robust queueing mechanisms, and uphold industry-standard security controls, ensuring reliable service delivery. Investing in the renewal ensures the continuity of these services. This application positions us to tackle the growing interface backlog efficiently, ultimately supporting our commitment to active and upcoming projects and quality service delivery.
Failing to award the renewal amount for MuleSoft poses significant risks to our operations. Without continued access to the platform, existing integrations critical to City functions may experience disruptions, leading to service delays and potential data silos.
The City is authorized to purchase from the State Contract list pursuant to Chapter 271 Subchapter D of the Texas Local Government Code and by doing so satisfies any State Law requiring local government to seek competitive bids for items. (Texas Department of Information Resources Contract No. TX DIR-TSO-4288 / City of Plano Internal Contract No. 2025-0179-O) |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL SUMMARY/STRATEGIC GOALS Funding for this item is available in the 2024-25 Technology Solutions Fund. This request is to approve the purchase of MuleSoft, in the estimated amount of $106,871, which will leave a remaining balance of $3,737,621 in the 2024-25 Applications Budget for other maintenance expenditures.
Approval of this item supports the City's Strategic Plan Critical Success Factor of Excellent, Innovative, and Accountable City Government.
